A Culture of Philanthropy

We would all agree that it is the incredible talent of our students that makes TBS a unique place.  We invite you to view this video presentation for the special message that our students have for our parents.  Click here to view.

Charitable support is an integral part of the tradition and culture of The Benjamin School.  Benjamin is sustained by the good works and charitable resources of the school community it serves.

Similar to most independent schools, Benjamin operates without tax support and even at a loss of $1,250 per student without charitable gifts.  The federal government encourages philanthropy by allowing charitable gifts to be deducted from taxable income, and Benjamin’s non-profit status enables supporters to take advantage of these tax benefits.

The strength of this school depends not simply on the ingenuity and dedication of our faculty, strong as it is, or on the formidable vision of our Board of Trustees, but on the willingness of parents, alumni, and community supporters to participate in and contribute to the greater good of the school.  Charitable support to TBS has a direct impact on the educational strength of our institution, thus compelling the school community to embrace the opportunity to make a difference in our students’ lives.

At Benjamin, we are committed to advancing the school’s mission through charitable giving.  Our supporters are encouraged to take pride in their caring generosity, knowing that it ensures our independence and maintains affordability that is so vital to the school’s mission.

As caretakers of a school with a tradition of excellence, we have a responsibility to sustain and enhance this wonderful institution.  We ask our Benjamin community to give generously, to the extent that every member is financially able, and know in advance, that every gift, no matter the amount, will make a difference and is important and appreciated.
