Benjamin Wins Homecoming Football Game

The Benjamin varsity football team defeated the Coral Shores Hurricanes in Friday night’s homecoming game. The final score was 21-3 Bucs.

The game was the culmination of a week-long spirit week celebration for Upper School students, marked by various theme days.

Monday students wore Star Wars themed costumes, with upperclassmen dressing as the “dark side” and underclassmen as the “light side.”

The day was capped off by a “Kan Jam” game that consisted of trying to throw as many frisbees as possible into a trashcan across the gym. The seniors and juniors tied for first place.

Tuesday’s theme was the Olympics, with each grade representing a different country. The freshmen represented Mexico, sophomores represented Australia, juniors represented the Bahamas, seniors represented Greece and the teachers represented the United States.

The highlight of Thursday’s celebration was each grade’s male cheerleading routines, performed in front of the entire student body. The best male cheerleader? Head of Upper School Fletcher Carr! Carr joined the boys in a choreographed routine that was met with applause and cheers.

Friday students wore orange and blue while participating in an obstacle course that included dizzy bat, blindfolded wheelbarrow racing and more.
