Dear Benjamin School Parents,
I hope that the restorative powers of summer have already found their home deep within your soul after a busy and demanding year at school. June is such a sweet month, that time of year when we peer far out into the horizon and see nothing but serenity, with the reassuring breeze at the beach promising that tomorrow will be as carefree as today. As you can tell, I am really looking forward to some time off!
Back at school, we are filled with pride over the outstanding work of our students this year and the many ways they have been recognized for excellence. With awards ceremonies, moving-up programs from one division to the next, and senior commencement now all behind us, we have a digest of the many ways in which our young people have excelled, not only at school, but in regional, state and national competitions.
Excellence in modern language contests (1st Place in French); “Superior” results in choral and instrumental events; The Pharcyde Upper School newspaper’s continued 1st Place award nationally; 1st Place for four consecutive years in Palm Beach County awarded our Upper School TV news program; 1st Place national recognition for our Upper School Benjineers engineering club; math, writing and science awards captured by our Lower and Middle School students; juried visual and performing arts awards in all three divisions; and on and on--all herald the growing strength of our innovative and expanding programs.
This was also a banner year in athletics for TBS, with more district championships and regional play than have been seen, for some sports, in decades! As a matter of fact, twenty-one Upper School students have been invited to commit to their sport at the collegiate level. At the same time, Middle School teams have celebrated undefeated seasons and garnered 1st Place spots in Palm Beach County tournaments.
We are thrilled to be planning our Lower/Middle School STEM Science Center with a lead capital gift of $2,500,000. Simultaneously, our Upper School STEM and engineering curricula are attracting attention nationwide. One way in which fine independent schools like Benjamin are evaluated regionally and across the country is by the colleges and universities that pursue their students for admission. The link herein

Please accept my best wishes for sun, fun and family time as the summer season continues to unfurl for you. Remember to be in touch with me for whatever reason in anticipation of school year 2016-2017. It is always my pleasure to be of assistance.
