AP Scholars Honored During US Assembly

Upper school scholars were honored during a special morning assembly for their success in AP coursework and exams. The highest award within the AP merit system is an AP Scholar With Distinction. Students who receive an average score of at least a 3.5 on all AP exams taken and have earned scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams are for the honor. Matias Saiz (Mejia) was also honored for being one of only 48 students in the world to score a perfect score on the AP United States Government and Politics Exam, earning every point possible on this particular exam.   

“This amazing accomplishment serves as but another example of Matias’ sustained hard work and success in his three-plus years at Benjamin; over that time, Matias has taken 8 AP Exams, scoring a 5 on seven of those exams and a 4 on the other. We are so proud of all that he has accomplished–both academically and in so many other areas, and look forward to his continued success through graduation and beyond,” said Head of Upper School Fletcher Carr.
