2015 Variety Show

The Benjamin School’s 200-member cast of lower, middle and upper school student, faculty and alumni singers, dancers and instrumentalists rocked the house in its final farewell to the Eissey Campus Theatre at the School’s 19th annual Variety Show performance, Legacy: From Tradition to Innovation.

For the matinee and evening audiences of the January 17 BASH Variety Show, it was an electrifying musical review performed by Benjamin’s talented dance teams, band and chorus, and student/faculty/parent vocal, dance and instrumental groups. Guests were also treated to breathtaking vocal performances by alumna Jill Nicklaus, a 1989 graduate of The Benjamin School, whose professional career spans 20-years on Broadway.

After nearly two decades of staging performances at Palm Beach State College in Palm Beach Gardens, The Benjamin School will soon have a performing arts facility to call its own: Benjamin Hall.

The new, state-of-the-art, 849-seat multi-purpose performing arts complex will be unveiled at the grand opening celebration scheduled for March 28 at 4 pm at The Benjamin School’s Upper School Campus in Palm Beach Gardens.

“Benjamin Hall will host the finest school theatre and auditorium in Palm Beach County," said Head of School Bob Goldberg. “This facility will be the hub of activity where both of our campuses can gather for lectures, special events, receptions and our outstanding performing arts programs. This is just another example of The Benjamin School’s growing prominence as a nationally recognized institution in independent school education.”

The new theatre will provide students with the opportunity to learn and perform on a daily basis in a truly professional facility. “Benjamin Hall will enable us to extend the breadth of our dance, vocal, strings and instrumental programs for our students,” remarked Sara Salivar, the artistic director of the Variety Show who chairs the Upper School Performing Arts Department. “We are grateful for the positive partnership we’ve sustained with the staff at Eissey Campus Theatre for so long, and are excited about moving into a new era of performance when we raise the curtain at our new theatre.”
