Upper School Students Spread Sunshine

Members of The Sunshine Club distributed a sweet treat and a compliment to each upper school teacher, faculty and staff member in honor of National Compliment Day and National Chocolate Day.

“Señora Tejera-Mede has a special calendar with fun National holidays and she said that there is a week close to Valentine's Day where it is National Compliment Day and National Chocolate Day. We chose to combine the idea of Valentine's Day cards with compliments and chocolate. The Sunshine Club spent a meeting writing cards to every teacher, staff and faculty member,” club president Jordan Mendelsohn said.

Teachers loved the sweet gesture, with responses ranging from “mmm, thank you,” to “It meant a great deal to me.” Upper School teacher Mr. Gardner said the treat and compliment made his morning.

The Sunshine Club is an upper school club that does community service projects in and outside of school. This year, the club worked with Adopt-a-Family to provide over 20 children with their top choice of holiday gift.
