WOW, Pre-K Celebrate Thanksgiving With Annual Festivals

Benjamin students in WOW and Pre-Kindergarten celebrated Thanksgiving with their annual Fall music festivals. Students in the Worlds Of Wonder program delighted an audience of friends and family with their Thanksgiving show followed by a multicultural potluck dinner.

Ms. Garcia welcomed family and friends to the celebration, and explained how the class of 2032 has been different than any other class to precede them.

“Not only is this the most students we’ve ever had, but 30 of the 54 children have siblings at The Benjamin School most of which have been through the WOW Program,” said Garcia.

“This group of students also come from a very diverse background of cultures Irish, German, Italian, Swedish, Mexican, English, Cuban, Scandinavian, Romanian, Israeli, French, Lebanese, Czech Republic, Russian, Scottish, Austrian, Puerto Rican, Native American, Australian, Hungarian, Greek, Bahamian, Columbian, Polish, Peruvian , Venezuelan, Burmese, Canadian, Taiwanese , Belgian, Dominican just to name a few,” she said.

Pre-Kindergarteners spent the morning of November 17 on the stage of the Barker Performing Arts Center, performing for friends, faculty and family during their annual Thanksgiving program. Music selections, led by Music Specialist and teacher Mrs. Joanmarie Garrettson, included “Old McDonald’s Band” and “I Am Thankful,”
