Academic Support

Middle School ABC/ETC

During the 2020-2021 academic year, the Middle School students will have an opportunity to receive additional academic help during Academic Boot Camp (ABC) and during Extra Time Classes (ETC).

Academic Boot Camp, or ABC, is an academic study hall available for all students to complete their homework and get additional help from their teachers if needed.  The Academic Boot Camp time has been incorporated into all Middle School students’ schedules and is the last class period of the day.

Extra Time Classes, or ETC is an extension of Academic Boot Camp held after school Monday - Thursday from 3:30 - 4:30pm. ETC provides a quiet, supervised study environment for students who would like to get a head start on homework and is particularly helpful for students who need to make up tests or missed work. Students may also use this time to see teachers via Zoom for extra help as well.  Students will be assigned a specific desk for the quarter in their respective classroom due to safety and medical reasons.  Additional information regarding ETC can be found on page 30 of The Middle School Student and Parent Handbook

If a student is participating in sports can they also attend ETC after school?
If a student is attending an afterschool activity, i.e. intramural football or volleyball, they should use the Academic Boot Camp Study Hall time to meet with teachers and get additional academic help. Those students will have an opportunity to attend ETC during the next quarter.

ETC pick up:
All students will be picked up at BLUE DOT  promptly at 4:30 p.m.  Parents should remain in their vehicles during pick up.

In order to follow the appropriate health and safety precautions and to adequately staff the program, we are asking parents to sign up for ETC in advance by the Quarter.  If you are interested in your child attending ETC, please fill out the registration form below by the end of the school day on Friday, August 28, 2020.

Please be in touch with us if you have any questions at all.
