Benjamin Football Captains Named To ‘Super 11’ Standout List

The Palm Beach Post and Sun Sentinel named Benjamin football players Joshua Pierre-Louis and Santino Marucci to their “Super 11” standout list. The honor cements them as top players in the area.

The theme of this year’s Super 11 section was “breaking out,” as the Post asked, “Which of these 11 players is going to enjoy the biggest breakout season this fall?”

Pierre-Louis was also named 2A-1A track athlete of the year by the Sun Sentinel. The paper lists his strengths as physicality and speed. The senior is considering Auburn, Illinois, N.C. State and UConn.

Quarterback Marucci was named to the Sun Sentinel’s All-County first team, and number 19 pro-style quarterback in the 2021 class. The paper lists his strengths as physical and mental toughness. Marucci said his offseason focus is building team chemistry with younger players. The junior is considering Wake Forest, Kentucky, Nebraska, Cincinnati and Appalachian State.

“Both young men are leaders on and off the field. We are excited to see what the future holds for these two 2019 football team captains. We’re confident that both will move on and become student-athletes in Division 1 college football,” said Head Football Coach Eric Kresser.
