Buccaneer Pride On Display During Spirit Week

Buccaneer pride was on full display during this year’s Spirit Week. Lower school students participated in the week-long celebration for the first time this year. Head of Lower School Dr. Kristen Sheehan said it was wonderful to see students in her division included in the celebration.

“Seeing our younger students display their Buccaneer pride was a personal highlight for me during the first quarter,” said Sheehan. “Spirit week has brought an even greater sense of pride, community, joy, and excitement to the lower school campus.”

The week-long celebration was marked by various theme days that featured an eclectic mix of dress down opportunities from student/teacher swap day, to salad “dressing” day, and super hero day.

Middle school Academic Dean Stephanie Oster spearheaded her division’s celebration and said it was a treat to bring such positive energy to campus this year. The middle school participated in a Buccaneer door decorating contest along with various theme days and culminated their week with a Friday afternoon pep rally.

Upper school students concluded their week, led by Student Council, with a water day that included a waterslide, dunk tank, water balloons, yard games, and popsicles.

A larger cohort of students returned to campus for the evening’s Homecoming football game that ended with the Buccaneers cruising to victory over American Heritage, Delray.
