Messages from the Head of School

Winter 2017-2018

Dear Benjamin School Parents,

A Happy and Healthy New Year to our entire Benjamin School Family, as the adults in your children’s lives at school scurry to return to the business of educating their students! As the date of this letter grows closer, we refocus on our academic vertical teaming, assuring that all grade levels pass from one to the other with the certainty and clarity of an intended spiral that moves children steadily forward and upward in the schoolhouse. A healthy curriculum must build clearly from one plateau to the next as well as move horizontally across the same grade level, so that no growth is missed nor any necessary duplication of material is overseen.

The tenets of our professional endeavors for the second half of this academic year are held dear. The vertical and horizontal curricula must exist both simultaneously as well as symbiotically if we are to accomplish the many and fresh fruits of our collective labor. Our teachers are steadfast in these efforts, and they produce extraordinary successes in athletics, academics, musical performance, visual arts, theater, dance, debate and every other aspect of human self-expression. At twenty-six examples so far this year in high-level multiple achievement, our Student-Athlete Collegiate Commitment List presents as such.

In addition to many of our individual student-athletes and teams achieving Palm Beach Post Top10 status, a number of our coaches were named Coach-of-the-Year.

Although many colleges and universities, such as University of Florida and Florida State University, have still not posted decisions, we are extremely proud of the number and quality of schools that have already stepped forward to offer admission to many Benjamin school students for the coming year.  Among those colleges and universities are:

Please accept my congratulations to all of you on the mighty accomplishments of your children thus far and my very best wishes for continued success as a family, replete with happiness and good health.

Sincerely,
