College Counselor Bekka Goldberg Presents At Regional Conference

Associate Director of College Counseling Bekka Goldberg presented a college admissions session about navigating performing and visual arts admissions during the Southern Association of College Admission Counselors Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Goldberg’s presentation, “Portfolios and Pre-screenings and Auditions, Oh My! Navigating Performing and Visual Arts Admissions” with Carol Conchar, Regional Director of Admissions at The George Washington University and Alex LeBlanc, Director of Regional Recruitment at Savannah College of Art & Design. The session offered an in-depth discussion about navigating the complexities of performing and visual arts admissions.

Goldberg says there are multiple pathways to studying the arts in a higher education setting, as is the case for senior Alexa McAvoy attending Emerson College in the fall for a BFA in Acting and Clairy Ling attending The New School: Parsons School of Design for a BFA in Fashion Design.

Goldberg, who attended the SACAC conference with Director of College Counseling Anna Wright and Assistant Director of College Counseling Alain Darang, says it was an excellent networking opportunity that connect the team with admissions representatives from a variety of institutions.
