BUCS' fabulous comeback falls just short in Olympia Invitational

The BUCS traveled to Palm Coast to compete in the 15th annual Olympia/Titan Invitational. After posting a tremendous opening round of 291 (+3), the BUCS found themselves eleven shots back of defending 2A state champions, Ponte Vedra (280(-8). Alex Vogelsong continued his unbelievable play with an opening tournament record 64 (-8). He was followed by Xander Kline 75 (+3) and James Key 75(+3) with Henry Dubiel 77 (+5) rounding out the 4 scores. The second day found the BUCS working extremely hard to catch the leaders and almost did so with the low round of the day 285 (-3). The comeback fell three shots short but great pride was taken as the second place finish was a tremendous effort. Alex Vogelsong was the individual champion posting a score of -10 (134) and continued his streak of winning every event he has played. The rest of the team played extremely well also - Xander Kline 146 (+2), Henry Dubiel 147(+3), James Key 149 (+5), Sebastian Nachilly 158 (+14) and Blake Bowen 159 (+ 15). Vogelsong, Kline and Dubiel all placed in the Top 10 of the 12-team / 72 man field. The BUCS continue play against St. Edwards and Pine School on Thursday.
