17 Benjamin Students Awarded Service Medals

Seventeen members of the Benjamin Upper School community were awarded Congressional Medals during the 2019 ceremony for Florida’s 18th District.

The ceremony, held Sunday, March 31 at the Eissey Campus Theatre, featured guest of honor Rep. Brian Mast (Fl-18). The award recognizes students in four program areas: public service, personal development, physical fitness and expedition/exploration.

Junior AJ Paksima had the honor of commencing the ceremony and introducing Master of Ceremonies WPTV’s Jon Shainman. Senior Cameron Pirozzi spoke to the audience about her experience earning the gold medal in 2017 and what the service portion of the award meant to her.

Bronze Medal: Emily Horgen, Alexia Letsche, Caroline Small, Kate Small, Caroline Yancey, Michael Yancey
