Newspaper Co-Editor Wins 1st Place Journalism Award

Senior Sam Fox, co-editor of the upper school’s The Pharcyde newspaper, was awarded First Place for Sports Writing during The Palm Beach Post’s annual Excellence in High School Journalism Awards luncheon.

The luncheon, held at the Hilton in West Palm Beach, recognized student achievements in 13 journalism categories, ranging from column writing and news writing to page design and photography.

Senior Robert Rubin won 2nd place in Editorial Writing and 3rd in General Excellence for students. The Pharcyde was awarded 2nd place in General Excellence for the Newspaper as a whole.

The American Scholastic Press Association for the fourth time in five years said that The Pharcyde was the best newspaper in their competition with a student population of less than 500 students.
