Benjamin Welcomes New Faculty, Students for the 2019-2020 School Year

Faculty and staff ushered in the start of the 2019-2020 school year with an opening assembly in Benjamin Hall on August 7. The group, eagerly awaiting the arrival of students on opening day August 13, received divisional updates on new teaching staff and enrollment numbers.

Interim Head of School Tom Reid welcomed the group back to campus before turning the assembly over to Division Heads Fletcher Carr, Chuck Hagy and Kristen Sheehan. The three welcomed new teachers in their divisions to the Benjamin community. The group, consisting of 10 new teachers across all three divisions, comes to the School with an impressive list of credentials and expertise and hails from as far as Montana.

Director of Admission Mary Lou Primm said the School will also be welcoming students from across the country and around the globe on opening day. New families will be moving from 15 states and countries including Brazil, Canada, Japan and the Czech Republic. Primm said she is excited to welcome them to the Benjamin family.

The day concluded with an evening reception hosted by Reid in Benjamin Hall. Faculty, staff and members of the Board of Trustees enjoyed the chance to socialize with Tom and his wife Ann as they were welcomed into the Benjamin family.
