Entrepreneur, Trustee Greg Bartoli Delivers Keynote Address At Alumni Breakfast

Greg Bartoli, founder of JEM Capital Management, a commercial real estate investment firm specializing in the hospitality business, served as the keynote speaker at the annual Alumni Networking Breakfast the morning of September 25. Bartoli, a graduate of Boston College and first generation American, spoke with Benjamin graduates about his career and the learning experiences that have most impacted him.

Bartoli recounted his modest upbringing and his father’s entrepreneurial spirit. His father, a direct Italian immigrant living in Brooklyn, hand-crafted 100,000 Pietas, a Renaissance sculpture by Michelangelo, and sold them for 10 cents a piece at the 1964 World’s Fair. He then took that money and paid for his mechanical engineering degree at Rutgers College.

Bartoli said his father’s work ethic and spirit helped shape who he is now.

“Every parent wants to give their child something more than they had,” said Bartoli. “For my parents, that was a modest Catholic school in New Jersey. Now, my children have the opportunity to attend Benjamin - somewhere I would not have had the opportunity to attend,” said Bartoli.

Alumni Council President Matt Brannon said the Alumni Association was honored to be joined by Bartoli and Interim Head of School, Tom Reid.

“We hosted a diverse and engaged group for a highly interactive networking and Q&A session, and thoroughly enjoyed Mr. Bartoli sharing his unique story, perspective on the evolving business landscape in South Florida, and a thoughtful discussion on economic forecasting,” said Brannon.

Bartoli resides in North Palm Beach with his wife Patty and children Juliana ‘26, Emma ‘28, and Matthew ‘30.
