'Red Ribbon Week' Wraps Up

Benjamin School students across all three divisions participated in Red Ribbon Week from October 21-October 25. The national drug awareness campaign, celebrated each year by the school, encourages students to live drug-free lives.

Lower school counselors Mrs. Bailey and Ms. Benvenuto used the week as an opportunity to speak with students about the importance of making smart and healthy choices. Members of the CARE Crew, spearheaded by the BPA’s Hospitality Committee, decorated the Lower and Middle School campuses with red ribbons as a reminder of the School’s commitment to the campaign.

Seventh grade students discussed the dangers of smoking, tobacco, e-cigarettes and vaping while eighth grade students reviewed important information on the use of illegal and abuse of legal drugs during their Skills classes.

Families in both lower and middle school were encouraged to participate in “Eat Dinner With Your Family Night” on October 22. The night is intended to serve as a springboard for conversations at home about safe and dangerous choices.

Upper School Peer Counselors placed red ribbons around campus and delivered a message to the student body about the importance of the week. Students also received red ribbon pins.
