Leadership Society Reception Recognizes Top Donors

Parents gathered for a cocktail reception at the beautiful home of Jason and Jaime Brown in Palm Beach Gardens the evening of November 14 to celebrate philanthropy at Benjamin. Leadership Society donors for the 2018-2019 school year were invited to the reception.

Interim Head of School Tom Reid said Leadership Society members were collectively responsible for making $2 Million in gifts to the School last year in a variety of areas including the Annual Fund and Capital Campaign. A Leadership gift is $3,000 or more annually.

“Their support is invaluable,” said Reid.

The event is both a community builder and a way for the School to say thank you to our most supportive families. As it turns out, many parents were thankful for what the School has done for their children.

“The best part of the evening was hearing the testaments to Benjamin from families with long histories and those who have been here only a brief time. Some of the senior parents were particularly effusive,” said Reid.

Nearly 100 people attended the event. In addition to Reid, parents heard from Chair of the Board of Trustees Ari Zur and Chief Development Officer Juan Carlos Fanjul ‘93.

The culture of philanthropy is very strong here at Benjamin. Our parents realize that an investment in Benjamin helps us hire and retain the best teachers, update facilities and technologies, and improve our academic, athletic, and arts programs. Ultimately, this benefits all of  our students,” said Fanjul.

The Leadership Reception is held each Fall at the home of a Leadership donor. “I would also like to thank the Brown family for hosting this significant event and welcoming other families with open arms,” said Fanjul.
