Head Of School Faus Welcomes Benjamin Faculty, Staff Back To Campus

Incoming Head of School Dave Faus welcomed Benjamin faculty and staff to the start of the 2020 school year during a virtual opening day ceremony in Benjamin Hall the afternoon of August 5.

Faus, beginning his first year at Benjamin, acknowledged the unprecedented start to the Fall.

“Let me start by saying how excited, honored, and humbled I am to serve as the Head of The Benjamin School. I have been so warmly welcomed this summer - even with masks and 6 feet physical distancing,” said Faus.

Faus focused his remarks in praise of Benjamin’s exceptional community of educators.

“What I know for certain is that faculty are the heart and soul of our School. Everything The Benjamin School is, every success it achieves, arises from the work of our teachers. My role, and the role of every member of the administration and staff is to support the faculty and our students,” said Faus.

He applauded the teachers at Benjamin for their dedication to their students, saying they are the hallmark of fairness, empathy, and strong moral character.

“Because our students trust and respect you, they allow you to develop meaningful relationships with them. That bond is at the heart of what sets Benjamin apart - it is what enables you to help every single student achieve as much as he or she possibly can,” said Faus.

Faus then welcomed the Division Heads to the stage to introduce new faculty members in their respective divisions.
