Alumni Legacy Brick Initiative

Installers were hard at work the morning of March 2 adding additional commemorative bricks to Benjamin’s walkways. The lined walkways on both campuses feature inscribed bricks celebrating members of the Benjamin community and their time at the School.

The naming opportunity, available to Benjamin alumni, serves as a way for former Buccaneers to celebrate their time at Benjamin. The fundraising effort supports academic programs, teacher retention, financial aid, and campus improvements.

Recent legacy bricks were purchased in honor of favorite teachers, former mentors, and families.

Alumni Council President Paul Lawler said alumni support for the program has been outstanding and demonstrates a continued commitment to the School.

“The legacy brick purchased by the Alumni Association will serve as a permanent reminder of our alumni’s dedication to Benjamin through fundraising and other initiatives,” said Lawler.

Current parent and alumnus Kyle Sheehan ‘96 purchased a brick as a nod to the special place Benjamin holds in his family’s heart.

“Both my brother and I have fond memories of Benjamin and hold all of our former teachers, mentors, friends, and coaches in high regard,” said Sheehan who serves on the Alumni Council.

“They helped guide us through our formative years and laid the foundation of our education. We now get to enjoy the experience again through the eyes of our children. We are proud alumni of the School, and even prouder parents of our current students. We believe that giving back to the School shows our appreciation and helps foster the same environment and experiences that we were so grateful to have had ourselves,” Sheehan said.
