MS Students Honored With Achievement Awards

Middle school students were celebrated for their academic, athletic, and artistic achievements during a virtual awards ceremony the morning of May 27. The annual end-of-year awards ceremony allows individual teachers to recognize the achievements of their students.

“Graduates of Benjamin have the skills to create, innovate, solve problems, work with others, and become leaders in our community giving our school a national reputation of excellence,” said Head of Middle School Charles Hagy. “None of this would be possible without the most important value of all - courage.”

Hagy applauded the School’s founders, Marshall and Nancy Benjamin, for their courage as pioneering educators in south Florida.

Students across all academic disciplines were awarded Department Awards, recognizing their outstanding work and achievement.

The Marshall Benjamin Award, which recognizes leadership, citizenship, concern for others and the school, was awarded to Willow Staples.

Ranking Scholars Grace Vining, Haley Roth, Chase Zur, Lauren Slyh and Sam Woods, were also recognized for their high academic achievement.

“Some quick advice,” said Hagy in closing remarks. “Make this summer about showing gratitude. There really is so much to be thankful for. Thank your parents for all they do for you, all of those selfless acts you see and everything you don’t see. Their love has been overwhelmingly demonstrated throughout this school year.”

Hagy encouraged students to thank their friends, classmates, and teachers; “the true heroes of our community.”

Congratulations to all of our award recipients, who are featured in the video below.
