US Teacher, TBS Graduate Pierman Helps Preserve School’s History

Upper school science teacher Amanda Pierman ‘97 wears many hats in any given week. You can find her hosting live robotics surgeries in Benjamin Hall, leading students through dissections in anatomy class, pursuing a doctorate degree in Educational Technology, parenting two children, and enjoying cake baking in her elusive free time.

So when it came to volunteering her time in service of the School, she said absolutely! Pierman, a graduate of Benjamin along with her husband Jason ‘96, has spent this past year combing through old yearbooks and identifying previously nameless photos in old graduation composites.

“I have finally finished,” said Pierman of the project she described as a true “labor of love.” Each composite features a graduating class of Benjamin and dates all the way back to the School’s inception. Pierman estimates that each composite, which now features students by name and is housed behind preservation glass, took her 40 hours.

The newly minted composites can be found lining the hallway of the upper school administration building.
