Opening Day Filled With Excitement As Students Return To Campus

This morning’s oppressive heat was unable to quell the joy and excitement of Benjamin students across all three divisions as they embarked on the opening day of the 2021-2022 school year. As our gates opened, 1,200 new and returning students were welcomed back to campus for what promises to be a fantastic year full of opportunity.

Head of School Dave Faus and Head of Upper School Fletcher Carr, lead a ceremonial “clap in” of the Senior class to their first assembly of their final school year at TBS.

“You could feel the joy and excitement in the air as we welcomed 1,200 TBS students back to school. I'm looking forward to all the campus-wide opportunities and hands-on learning in store for our community this year,” said Faus.

Director of Enrollment Management Amy Jablonski said new families hail from as far as Turkey, England, Norway, and Switzerland. They are joined by 93 alumni families who currently have children enrolled in their Alma Mater.

“When I made the decision to move to Florida, and I started really digging into the school market here, Benjamin was the only school I could see myself at,” said Jablonski who recently became a part of the Benjamin family after working for years in admissions in the Northeast.

“In my first week here, I received a call from a placement consultant who said, ‘Benjamin is such a hot school right now. Anyone who is thinking about moving to Florida is talking about Benjamin,’ and that is such a tribute to the incredible work that our faculty and staff are doing in the classrooms, on the stage, and on the playing field,” said Jablonski who said she has seen a 30 percent increase in applicants from last year.
