Sydney Steinger Profiled By Forbes For Foster Care Work

Senior Sydney Steinger received national recognition from Forbes for her work placing children in adopted or foster homes through her organization A Childs Home. Steinger, according to Forbes, founded the non-profit after her family adopted her mother’s best friend’s daughter after she passed away. 

Steinger told Forbes the first step she took in founding A Child’s Home was meeting with the Florida Department of Children and Families, ChildNet, and Speak Up for Kids, to gain a better understanding of how her organization could support the critical need for foster parents in Florida. 

“Eventually, the mission of A Child’s Home grew to include both online videos and local television broadcasts,” said Steinger, who has used her talents as a multimedia journalist to help support her non-profit. 

“I interviewed abandoned children, foster kids with disabilities, newly adoptive parents, and experts in the field. And every Tuesday, I deliver my work to WFLX only to watch it on the ten o’clock news the next day,” Steinger told Forbes. 

Ken Archer, Director of Multimedia Productions and Steinger’s journalism teacher, said he is so proud of her for using her journalistic abilities to help place Palm Beach County children into foster care. 

“If I can help even just one child find a forever home it will have been enough,” said Steinger.
