BASH Gala A Record-Breaking Success

This year’s BASH Gala “NYC Meets Palm Beach” was a record-breaking success thanks to the unwavering support of parents, friends, auction donors, and sponsors. The gala, hosted the evening of March 5 at PGA National Resort & Spa, was an opportunity for new families, returning families, alumni, grandparents, and friends to support The Benjamin School.

“Each year, this wonderful Benjamin tradition is made possible by a dedicated group of volunteers from faculty and staff to our co-chairs and BASH Committee who so generously donate their time to the School,” said Director of Annual Giving and Special Events Sheena Wilber.

Wilber said this year’s event, Co-Chaired by Heather and Stephen Atkins and Lisa and Eric Glasband, was one for the books with record-high bidding both in-person and online.

BASH Honorary Chairs Joanna Hogan (50 years), Ron Ream (48 years), Jane Hig (46 years), Sara Salivar (40 years), Anita Spassoff (40 years), Amy Taylor (38 years), and Toby Harbeck (37 years), were celebrated for their decades of service to the School as our longest-tenured teachers who continue to work on a full or part-time basis at TBS.

This year’s Call From The Heart went to much-needed classroom renovations in the Lower and Middle School and toward new flooring in the Upper School.

“The goal was to create more inviting spaces for all of our students and provide teachers with more storage space and ergonomic furniture,” said Wilber. “I am always blown away by the tremendous generosity of our Buccaneer community. When asked to meet a need they always far surpass any benchmarked expectation. And for that we are all tremendously grateful.”

Wilber said she’s excited for next year’s Gala and what magic it will bring.

“Stay tuned! There are some exciting surprises on the horizon,” she said.
