National Honor Society Inducts 38 New Members

Thirty-eight members of The Benjamin Upper School community were inducted into the School’s chapter of the National Honor Society during a Spring candlelight ceremony hosted March 24 in Benjamin Hall.

Head of School Dave Faus welcomed a full audience of parents, faculty, students, and guests to the annual ceremony.

“It’s an important morning for us because we are recognizing ideals that were really founded by the Benjamins in the very early days. The four pillars of NHS are really embraced by the Benjamin experience,” Faus said.

“Today is a celebration of good deeds, and good work, and a job well done,” Faus said before turning the podium over to Head of Upper School Fletcher Carr who delivered a brief history of the organization.

NHS faculty advisor and Social Studies Department Chair Sara Misselhorn lead the ceremony, while President Jake Zur and NHS Officers inducted new members in the categories of knowledge, leadership, scholarship, service, and character.

The new inductees, who were elected by the TBS Faculty Council, demonstrated excellence in all five pillars.
