'All My Sons' Wins 5 Cappie Awards
The Benjamin School’s Fall production of Arthur Miller’s All My Sons won five Cappie awards, including “Best Play” during an awards ceremony the evening of May 17 at the Broward Performing Arts Center.
The Cappies program trains high school students to become “theatrical journalists by reviewing and adjudicating high school productions from all over South Florida,” said theater director Jason Peck.
Participating schools, according to Peck, are some of the most prestigious high school theater programs across South Florida.
“This is Benjamin’s first year participating in the awards program and we are beyond thrilled that so many of our fabulous theatrical artists were recognized,” said Peck.
Peck said Benjamin thespians enjoyed the evening amongst thousands of “high school theater lovers from all across South Florida.” He said the ceremony recognized a broad cross-section of students from schools in the area.
“All My Sons is an exceedingly difficult text, and our fabulous cast met this challenge"head-on and delivered a no holds barred performance that I was incredibly proud of,” said Peck
