The Sailfish Splash Waterpark Aquatic Athletics Center has become a home away from home for Benjamin junior Alessandra Baldari.

The Palm Beach Post’s Girls Swimmer of the Year has qualified for the Florida High School Swimming and Diving State Championships hosted at the Stuart facility in each of the past four seasons.

Her first visit came as an eighth-grader, and her most recent closed a standout junior season.

Baldari, who broke a pair of county meet records this year and also set a St. Andrew’s pool record in the 200-yard individual medley, won two medals at the Class 1A state meet in November.

She placed fourth in the 200 IM and second in the 100 butterfly, earning All-America status in both races.

Baldari also competed in a pair of relays for the Bucs, helping her team place 10th in the 200-yard medley relay and 11th in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

“Both of her individual swims at the state meet were well below the high school All-American standards, which puts her in the top tier of the nation’s high school swimmers,” Benjamin coach Dick Cavanah said. “Her hard work in the pool is exceptional, as she pushes herself to her limit every day. She is an outstanding leader for her team.”
