Benjamin Girls Golf Team Sweeps Post Awards

Sophomore Hannah Foster has won the Palm Beach Post’s Girls Golfer of the Year Award. Foster, who started playing golf at the age of 8, has been selected to the Post’s All-Area First Team for four consecutive years!

Earlier this year, Foster won the high school district championship and helped Benjamin advance to the state championships.

“I practice every day on all parts of my game,” Foster told The Palm Beach Post. “My iron play is one of my strengths now. But I have also been spending time working at the mental part of golf and focusing on being both calm and strong on the course.”

Foster has met with success under the coaching of Wesley Logsdon. Logsdon has led the team to their 10th consecutive district championship and first regional title in our school’s history. Logsdon’s record of success earned him the Post’s Coach Of The Year award.

Freshman Sarah Beqaj made the Post’s first team. She’s one of three Benjamin golfers to place among the top 35 at the Class 1A state tournament. She shot a 14-over 158.

Jenna Fonda, a freshman, also made the Post’s first team after a 38th-place finished at the Class 1A state tournament.

Sarah Kahn, a Benjamin Junior, makes the Post’s first team after placing 30th at the Class 1A state tournament with a 13-over 157. She finished with a 76 stroke average.

Sabrina Fonda earned an honorable mention from the Post.
