LS Student Wins Red Ribbon Photo Contest

Fifth grade student Lucas Yates was named the 2021 National Red Ribbon Week Photo Contest winner for the Southeast region.

The theme of this year’s contest was “Drug Free Looks Like Me.” Participants were asked to photograph themselves in front of their homes with a double looped red-ribbon. Yates’s photo featured him and friends - and one adorable canine - in front of a home with a mirror and the “drug free looks like me” theme.

Yates, whose mother Dr. Renea Yates serves as Benjamin’s Student Services Counselor, is thrilled by the honor and will receive an iPad for his winning submission. The school, thanks to Yates' creativity and ingenuity, will receive a monetary stipend.

Head of School Dave Faus said he is proud of Yates and his winning photo and for embodying our 12 Benjamin Values.
