Varsity Swimmer Makes History

Varsity Swimmer Alex Fleming Lake ‘23 was recently interviewed by his hometown paper Caribbean Loop News about his history-making success as an Anguillan swimmer in the United States. Lake was the first Anguillan swimmer to compete at the Commonwealth Games and swims for Benjamin’s varsity team.

Lake, who began swimming at age three, can also add fashion designer to his resume. The street clothing designer launched his brand YNGMNDS in 2020.

Lake hopes to pursue a degree in Business/Graphic Design in college before working in his family’s business back in his hometown.

“Then my main goal is to get a pool in Anguilla so other children could learn to swim,” Lake told The Loop
