Last week, our campus construction reached a major milestone, as the foundations of the Stiles-Nicholson Innovation Center and the Bodstrom Family Student Union (closest to the lake) took shape at the Upper School. Drone video captured the outlines of both forthcoming buildings. Before school hours, Anderson-Moore Construction coordinated dozens of cement trucks to pour concrete into the building foundations and column pads, setting the stage for the next phase of progress.

The Bodstrom Family Student Union is the Upper School’s new dining facility complete with a chef’s kitchen preparing daily fresh meals onsite. With indoor and outdoor seating along the lake, the venue can be used for major community events both on the first floor and the second-floor balcony overlooking the water. The facility will also have three additional classrooms on the second floor. Caddy-corner is the Stiles-Nicholson Innovation Center, which will bring science, technology, engineering, art, and math classes all under one roof. The two-story building will enable students to collaborate and explore together in six state-of-the-art labs—including one with a garage door for indoor/outdoor work.

Next up, a concrete pour at the Jenkins Family Lower School Office and Carline. At the Lower School, “Green Dot” may partially reopen sometime after Thanksgiving, depending on weather and construction progress.

All three projects are part of Phase 1 of Boundless: The Campaign for The Benjamin School. To find out more about Phase 2 and how you can invest in the future of Benjamin, please visit our  Boundless website. .
