COVID-19 Update 9/3/2021

Dear Members of The Benjamin School Community,

Our COVID-19 Task Force continues to closely monitor the state of the pandemic both locally and nationally. As local conditions have seen no significant improvement, we are officially extending our indoor mask mandate through the remainder of the month. We will continue to monitor local data and the overall positivity rate on a weekly basis and will update our policy as the circumstances dictate. In the meantime, the COVID-19 Management Chart has been updated.  

Our school nurses are working diligently and tirelessly to ensure the safest possible experience on campus. We understand that local testing options have been more limited in recent weeks and recognize the strain that places on families. The COVID-19 Task Force is exploring solutions that may help simplify and expedite required testing. While the testing protocols do present obstacles, please remember that ultimately we all share the same goal: to remain open to in-person education. Our school nurses are executing the plans put in place by the Task Force in an attempt to keep all students, faculty, and staff healthy; there have been several instances in the past few weeks where the nurses have been treated disrespectfully which is a direct contradiction of our Benjamin Values and will not be tolerated. Please remember our nursing staff is doing their very best to keep this community safe during an extraordinary time.

 

The COVID-19 Dashboard has been updated for the current week. This chart reflects new positive COVID-19 test results in students, faculty, and staff as reported to the School each week and can be accessed through your BucLinks account (instructions below.)
