Shadow Day Q & A

  • Do I need to apply for admission before my shadow day?

    Yes - please submit an admission application online along with the $100 application fee.
    Then the Admission Office will call you to schedule a shadow day.
     
  • What time should I plan to arrive and leave?

     
    ● Middle School applicants should arrive by 8:00; pick up will be at 1:30pm.
    ● Upper School applicants should arrive by 7:50; dismissal will be at 2:00pm.
  • What day can I shadow?

    What day can I shadow? - Students can shadow non-block schedule days. Please contact the
    admission office to schedule at 561.472.3451 or admission@thebenjaminschool.org
    ● Students applying to grades 6-8 can shadow on Thursday or Friday.
    ● Students applying to grades 9-11 will typically shadow on a Monday, please contact the
    admission office.
  • What should I wear for my shadow day?

     
    ● Dress code for boys: shorts or slacks (belted) collared or polo shirt (tucked in)
    ● Dress code for girls: shorts, skort or slacks (belted - cannot be rolled up), collared or polo
    shirt (tucked in)
    ● Shoes: Closed-toed shoes (i.e. sneakers or deck shoes)
    ● Please NO jeans or leggings

     
  • Where should I go for my shadow day?

     
    ● Middle School - North Palm Beach Campus - Admission Office, 11000 Ellison Wilson
    Road, Bldg #5, North Palm Beach 33408.
    ● Upper School - Upper School Campus, 4875 Grandiflora Road, PBG, 33418. Please
    go to the Main Office-Bldg #1.
  • What should I bring?

    Bring a positive attitude. You are welcome to bring a bottle of water and/or a snack.
     
  • Do I need to bring my own lunch?

    We will treat you to lunch when you shadow - please contact the Admission Office prior to your
    shadow day to discuss the day’s lunch selections and if you have any dietary restrictions.
     
  • What should I expect on my shadow day? When do I interview?

    Expect to have a wonderful day with our students and teachers. Plan to be respectful and
    behave as you would at your own school. Your day includes an interview with an Admission
    Office staff member and also time to complete a writing sample. Shadows are encouraged to
    participate in class discussions and activities to get the full Benjamin experience!
