Shadow Day Q & A

  • Do I need to apply for admission before my shadow day?

    Yes - please submit an admission application online along with the $100 application fee.
    Then the Admission Office will call you to schedule a shadow day.
     
  • What day can I shadow?

    Students can shadow on non-block schedule days.
    • Students applying to grades 6-8 can shadow on Monday or Friday.
    • Students applying to grades 9-11 can shadow on Monday, Tuesday or Friday.
     
  • What should I wear for my shadow day?

    • Girls should wear a collared shirt tucked into shorts, pants, skirt or skort.
              Please wear close-toed shoes. No denim, flip flops, or tank tops.
    • Boys should wear a collared shirt tucked into shorts or pants with a belt.
              Please wear close-toed shoes. No denim, flip flops, or tank tops.
     
  • Where should I go for my shadow day?

    • Middle School applicants should go to the Admission Office on the North Palm Beach campus (11000 Ellison Wilson Road, NPB, 33408). The Admission Office (Building #5) is located on the Northwest corner of the campus. Look for visitor parking in front of the Office.
    • Upper School applicants should go to the Upper School Administration Building / Front Office in Palm Beach Gardens (4875 Grandiflora Road, PBG, 33418). Look for visitor parking in front of the building.
     
  • What time should I plan to arrive and leave?

    • Middle School applicants should arrive by 8:00; classes end at 3:20.
    • Upper School applicants should arrive by 7:50; classes end at 3:00.
     
  • What should I bring?

    Bring a positive attitude and a book that you’re reading in case your host/ess has a quiz or test during the day.  You are welcome to bring a bottle of water and/or a snack.
     
  • Do I need to bring my own lunch?

    We will treat you to lunch when you shadow - please let the Admission Office know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions.
     
  • What should I expect on my shadow day? When do I interview?

    Expect to have a wonderful day with our students and teachers. Plan to be respectful and behave as you would at your own school. Your day includes an interview with an Admission Office staff member and also time to complete a writing sample. Shadows are encouraged to participate in class discussions and activities to get the full Benjamin experience!
