Allergies
The Benjamin School is an allergy safe school and takes all allergies including food allergies seriously. We understand that some allergies can be life threatening to a student throughout their school day. Recognizing that the risk of accidental exposure to allergens including food allergies can be reduced in the school setting. We are committed to working with students, parents, guardians and medical providers to minimize risks and provide a safe educational environment.
The Benjamin School will make reasonable accommodations after receiving the Physician’s Authorization for Student Medication form from your child's physician as well as the Allergy Health History form that parents complete. Parents are encouraged to contact our school nurses if they have any questions pertaining to an allergy.
In addition to having the nurses on staff during school hours, The Benjamin School Faculty and Staff recieve annual training on how to recognize the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction and the proper administration of an EpiPen, Auvi-Q or other emergency medication device.
