COVID-19 Update 4/30/2021

Dear Members of The Benjamin School Community,

As we approach the last month of this school year, our COVID-19 Task Force continues to meet to review and refine campus policies. With regularly updated guidance from the CDC and the Palm Beach County Department of Health and many months of data and observations, we are constantly considering which campus protocols continue to serve us and which we can adjust, reduce, or eliminate.

Over the course of this school year, our daily temperature checks have not proven to be an effective COVID-19 mitigation measure.

Beginning on Monday, May 3, we will no longer take temperatures upon arrival to campus. We still ask that parents continue to take their child’s temperature each morning before school.

Since faculty and staff will no longer be leaning into cars to take temperatures, drivers do not need to wear a mask in the carline unless their child requires assistance from a teacher to get in and/or out of their vehicle. Students are still expected to have their masks in place upon arrival.

The COVID-19 dashboard has been updated for the current week. As a reminder, this chart reflects new positive COVID-19 test results in students, faculty, and staff as reported to the School each week.

Sincerely,

David C. Faus
