Dear Members of the Benjamin Community,
After careful consideration and review of the current circumstances surrounding the spread of COVID-19, we will be closing campus after today’s regularly scheduled activities. We will inform you about limited access to campus during this closure as the details are finalized. We will transition to our Remote Learning Program for students in all divisions on Tuesday, March 17. Spring Break will follow as originally scheduled, and remote learning will continue after the break. Please see the schedule below:
Faculty Professional Development Day: Monday, March 16 (No Remote Learning)
Remote Learning: Tuesday, March 17 - Thursday, March 19
Faculty Professional Development Day: Friday, March 20 (No Remote Learning)
Spring Break: Friday, March 20 - Friday, March 27 (No Remote Learning)
Remote Learning: Monday, March 30 - Tuesday, April 7
Easter/Passover Break: Wednesday, April 8 - Friday, April 10 (No Remote Learning)
Potential On-campus Classes Resume: Monday, April 13
We hope to resume classes on campus on April 13. Our goal is to minimize the loss of on-campus instruction days and maximize efforts to keep the School and the broader community safe and healthy. During the closing, all co-curricular activities including arts, athletics, and special events also are canceled.
We recognize that this decision is a disruption to the lives of our students, parents, faculty, and staff. As you plan activities and travel over this extended break from campus, please bear in mind that each of us is responsible for helping safeguard our community during this global pandemic. A demonstration of this responsibility is a true reflection of the 12 Benjamin Values
Please be reminded that our COVID-19 webpage
is the best source of current and accurate information. You will also find the detailed plans for the Remote Learning Programs
for Lower, Middle, and Upper School on that site. I will continue to be in touch with you during this campus closure.
