COVID-19 Update 2/13/2020

Dear Benjamin Parents,

Along with the rest of the world, we continue to monitor news of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19. Our response team of administrators, school nurses, and medical directors met this week to discuss the most recent updates and to be sure the School is doing all it can to keep all members of our community safe. We will continue to comply with all CDC and State/County Health Department guidelines. In addition, we have been monitoring the Johns Hopkins data map that details the spread and impact of the virus.

We recognize there is a heightened concern about domestic and international travel. As many students prepare for school-sponsored trips, please know that our team is monitoring all related travel advisories; there have been no changes to our plans at this time. Chaperones are aware of the CDC protocols and the various transmission scenarios; any issues that may arise will be managed situationally and in accordance with the most up-to-date guidelines and consultation with our medical directors. I urge any families with travel concerns to please reach out to Mr. Carr or me so we can address them.

In the meantime, please reference this letter from our nurses, shared recently schoolwide, about what each of us can do to minimize the spread of germs at home and in school.

Sincerely,
Thomas J. Reid
