COVID-19 Update 3/12/2020

Dear Members of the School Community,

We continue our efforts to stay abreast of COVID-19 developments and keep you informed. Today, I would like to share the most recent steps we have taken and decisions made.
  • First and with great regret, I must inform you that Saturday evening’s BASH Gala has been cancelled. The BASH committee is busy preparing plans for a virtual event that will provide a way to support our school without gathering a large crowd in person. Information regarding the auction and other aspects of the evening will be provided later today. Given all the work of Nicole and Ben Foster and Darren and Sierra Lowe and the dozens of volunteers have put into planning this event, I know our community will rally behind them as they switch gears for a virtual event.
  • All co-curricular events bringing large groups together in confined spaces have been cancelled or postponed.
  • All day field trips and overnight trips have been cancelled until further notice.
  • All other co-curricular events, including athletic contests and meetings, will be reviewed and cancellation decisions made day-to-day in response to developments and directives from health officials.
  • The SAT test originally scheduled for Saturday, March 14 has been cancelled.
Most importantly, should it be needed, we have the Remote Learning Program completed for all grades. Over the coming days, the Technology Department will work with faculty and students in the Middle and Upper Schools to ensure all are prepared for online instruction and response. The Lower School remote learning will be provided through packets of lessons and materials for each grade. The details for each division’s program can be found HERE

I am sure there will be further updates. I will make every effort to limit them to essential messages. At the same time, do not hesitate to contact me or anyone in the administration regarding any concerns related to these communications.

Remember that this message, as well as all previous COVID-19 communications, may be found on our new webpage.

Sincerely,
Thomas J. Reid
