Dear Benjamin School Parents,
There is news, and then there is news that is no longer really news. Whatever it is, the announcement by Governor DeSantis was very much a matter of facing the inevitable. In keeping with that announcement, The Benjamin School will not return to on-campus teaching and learning this school year. We will continue our Remote Learning Program and seek to refine and improve every aspect of it. With a little more than a month of classes to go, there is still lots of time for instruction and learning.
Later this week, the Division Heads will write to cover a host of matters surrounding the coming weeks, particularly how we will handle annual events and programs. We have been preparing for this likelihood; now that it is a reality, we need only finalize plans.
Bringing the year to a close without the opportunity to be together saddens me greatly. At each grade there were highly anticipated moments that will be missed. For the youngest, perhaps missed only by the parents; for the Class of 2020, moments to be missed by all of the Benjamin community, but certainly most by the Class and their parents. We shall do all we can to put together the best possible end of year program to celebrate what has been achieved at every level.
