Chinese Picture Book Exhibit Travels To TBS

Lower school students enjoyed a traveling exhibit of Chinese Children’s books the week of November 26. The exhibit, showcased at the Miami International Book Fair earlier in November, travelled to Benjamin as part of the School’s partnership with the Confucius Institute at Miami Dade College.

The exhibit featured dozens of Chinese picture books with themes from traditional Chinese culture, employing Chinese forms of artistic expression. Students enjoyed reading the books, which offered a look into contemporary China.

Confucius Institute directors Dr. Xuejun Yu and Xinglin Liu said they hope to continue offering the children’s book fair at Benjamin for years to come.

“I hope that these books can serve as a bridge, allowing more children around the world to enter into China, and enter into the world of Chinese children,” said Zhu Yongxin, Vice President of China Association of Education.
