Class of 2020 Celebrates Early Decision Acceptances

Jessy Padon
Thirty-one seniors have received news of their early acceptance to the college of their choice. From Brown and Columbia to Duke and Villanova, the colleges and universities chosen by our students represent a wide variety of schools across the country.

Students lauded the college counseling team for their assistance with the application process and beyond. “Aside from her help reviewing my application materials, I believe that what most helped me in this process was knowing I had my college counselor’s full and constant support, encouragement, and advocacy in all aspects of the college application process,” said senior Nicolas Lama who will attend Columbia University.

For many students, their decision to apply early was easy. “After multiple visits to the University of Pennsylvania and talking to current students, I knew that this school was the best fit for me,” said Ashley Cousin. “I am excited to gain a liberal arts education in addition to an engineering degree. Besides the academics, I was also drawn to Penn because of the campus feel. From the very first moment I stepped onto Penn’s campus, I could tell how involved and passionate the students were.”

For some seniors, collegiate athletic programs had a major influence on their college choice. Alexa Tiano is excited to attend Rhodes College in Tennessee because “it is a great small academic school, and they also have a great Division III Women's Golf Program.”

The college admission process will continue for several months, and the School looks forward to celebrating the rest of the Class of 2020 later this year.
