Lower School Hosts Virtual Back To School Nights

The Lower School hosted a series of back to school nights the week of August 25 to familiarize parents with their child’s classroom experience this Fall, for both on-campus and remote learners.

“Back to school nights are a staple in the lower school that parents look forward to,” said Head of Lower School Dr. Kristen Sheehan. “We traditionally welcome parents to campus where they can hear from administrators and tour their children’s classrooms. We hope that despite pivoting to a virtual event this year, parents walked away with an inside look into a ‘day in the life,’” said Sheehan.

Lower School parents heard from their children’s teachers about daily routines, classroom expectations, and curriculum. Teachers also reviewed new health procedures implemented this year to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus, including temperature checks at drop-off, hand washing stations, facial coverings, and physical distancing.

Parents were also treated to a ThingLink presentation of all the Specials and Encore classes their children would be enjoying on-campus this Fall.

“We are excited to get this year underway and are enjoying the energy and excitement our young learners have been bringing to campus each day,” said Sheehan.
