Class Of 2021 Honored During Outdoor Graduation Ceremony

Members of the Class of 2021 were celebrated for their four years of academic, athletic, and artistic achievements during an outdoor commencement ceremony the evening of May 21. The outdoor ceremony, the first of its kind, enabled friends and family to gather despite the covid pandemic.

Head of School Dave Faus told the audience of proud family and friends that he was excited to celebrate the seniors’ final accomplishments with them.

“You leave Benjamin well prepared and well positioned to succeed. Based on your accomplishments thus far, it is clear that the Class of 2021 will continue to make a positive impact for years to come,” said Faus who told the graduating class he looks forward to hearing what they will do next.

Salutatorian Aidan Neidoff shared the important lessons he learned during his time at Benjamin.

“The most important lesson I learned in high school is not what a hyperbole is or the atomic structure of oxygen, but rather how to adapt when reality doesn’t meet expectations . . . We’ve all learned to adapt when things don’t go our way and we truly passed the final and hardest test of high school by overcoming all of these challenges,” said Neidoff of the senior class who faced unprecedented hurdles throughout the pandemic.

Valedictorian Alex Michelon spoke fondly of his time at Benjamin, thanking all of the mentors and teachers who had made an impact on him throughout his journey at the upper school.

With tremendous pride, Head of Upper School Fletcher Carr presented diplomas to the graduating Class of 2021.
