NextEra Energy Resources CEO Kujawa Keynote Speaker At Alumni Breakfast

NextEra Energy Resources CEO and member of The Benjamin School’s Board of Trustees Rebecca Kujawa delivered a keynote speech at the annual Alumni Networking Breakfast the morning of October 20. Kujawa, whose children attend Benjamin, spoke to an audience of alumni about her career and the learning experiences along the way that have been the most impactful.

Kujawa said her family was drawn to the Benjamin community for its focus on “the whole child,” a decision which has made them all “tremendously happy.”

“There isn’t just one way to be successful or one answer in life,” Kujawa told the audience of alumni ranging in graduate years from the ‘90s through 2015.

“Ultimately, my hope for my children is for them to be happy, motivated, and fulfilled by whatever it is they choose to do,” she said.

She stressed the importance of giving children and young people the tools they need to problem solve on a micro and macro level.

“It’s a big challenge we face as a society, the ability to problem solve,” she said.

When asked how she manages to successfully juggle it all, Kujawa said it comes down to stress management and focusing on the right things.

“Two things distinguish employees: passion and perseverance. Get focused on what’s important,” she said, as this reorientation can create a powerful mindset difference.

After her speech, alumni had the opportunity to connect with one another and hear more about ways they can reconnect with the Benjamin community.
