Variety Show ‘World Showcase’ Travels The Globe

The Variety Show “traveled” to exciting world destinations across the globe during the annual event in Benjamin Hall. The 2023 production “Destinations: A World Showcase” highlighted a talented group of student, alumni, parent, and faculty performing artists.

Co-chaired by Tona Krul and Jane Beam, the event was an exciting return to live performance after two years of virtual shows. Upper School Performing Arts Department Chair Sara Salivar and music teacher Kirkland Austin co-directed the phenomenal performing arts showcase.

Salivar said the event was one that she will remember as a highlight of her Benjamin experience.

“After two years of virtual shows, it was amazing to experience a live show with all of its challenges and bright moments. I will never forget the smiles and excitement that I saw on the faces of the cast, crew, committee members, and audiences throughout the production. I will never forget that special glow that our children, faculty, staff, and choreographers exuded throughout the weekend,” said Salivar who expressed her gratitude for the entire production team who supported the event.

Middle School students also had the opportunity to perform. Middle School Dean of Students Nick Crisafi said it was thrilling to watch such an amazing show.

“The Middle School performers did an outstanding job bringing their talent and instruction to the stage. Absolutely phenomenal,” he said.
