Senior Receives Young Playwrights Award
Senior thespian Aditya Jasti was named a winner of this year’s Palm Beach Drama Works Young Playwrights Festival. Jasti received the honor for his play Flaws.
Senior Izzy Molnar’s play The Attic was named as runner-up.
“This year, Palm Beach Drama Works had an overwhelming number of submissions,” said upper school Director of Theater Jason Peck.
Peck said he was proud of all the students who submitted work to the competition for adjudication.
Aditya’s play will receive a live staged reading with professional actors and a director and will be published in the 2023 anthology of PBD’s winning ten-minute plays.
“Aditya now begins the process of workshopping his play with professional dramaturgs and playwrights, and the reading of his play will be held in late April,” Peck said.
