8th Grade Celebrates ‘Moving Up’

Benjamin eighth graders celebrated graduation during a ceremony in Benjamin Hall that ushered the Class of ‘27 into their next chapter as upper school students at The Benjamin School.

Head of Middle School Charles Hagy welcomed students and family members to the program, and thanked the class for leading the middle school through the school year.

“Thank you for reminding us that a Benjamin education is not a solitary pursuit, but a collaborative one anchored in our community,” said Hagy.

Bronson Levine ‘27 had the honor of sharing the invocation followed by Ava Shawe ‘27 who sang the Alma Mater.

“To our parents and our families; thank you for trusting The Benjamin School with what’s most precious in life - your children. Thank you for your help and support. Finally, any school is only as good as its teachers. A special thank you to our faculty,” said Hagy before turning the podium over to student council president Thomas Harris who shared his thoughts on perseverance.

Andrew Moffitt shared about his time as an upper school student and offered advice to the graduating class on how to navigate the next four years before the Class of 2027 was presented.
