TBS Welcomes 193 New Students On Opening Day

The opening day of the 2019-20 school year on August 13 ushered in 193 new students from six different countries, 15 different states, and throughout the state of Florida.

Interim Head of School Tom Reid began the morning at the upper school campus, leading a ceremonial “clap in” of the Senior class to their first assembly of the year. Reid, along with the senior class, then travelled to the lower school campus where he lead lower and middle school students in their opening assembly.

Reid read New York Time’s best-selling author Kobi Yamada’s “What Do You Do With A Chance?” and reminded the audience of eager learners of the importance of taking academic chances and risks this school year.

Middle School world language teacher Ms. Latimer then lead the assembly in an a cappella rendition of the Alma Mater.
